The Piano Guys

If you have not yet been introduced to the amazingness that is The Piano Guys...allow me to introduce you.

Dear blog readers.....The Piano Guys.

The Piano Guys....allow me to introduce you to my blog readers, who I'm sure will become big fans.

The Piano Guys actually consists of a piano guy, and a cello guy (and a bunch of backup guys). As they say, the first thing you should do after naming your group "The Piano Guys" is go find a cellist (ha ha ha). They do instrumental covers of popular songs, and then they do a music video that usually features the most beautiful scenery you've ever seen.

They released a new video this week. Their version of "Home" by Phillip Phillips (of American Idol fame). I like the original song....but I LOVE The Piano Guys version. They took a good song and made it amazing. Enjoy!

Other The Piano Guys Favorites:
1. What Makes You Beautiful (originally performed by OneDirection)
2. A Thousand Years (originally performed by Christina Perri)
3. Peponi [Paradise] (originally performed by Coldplay)
4. Beethoven's Five Secrets (a mashup of Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Secrets by One Republic)
5. Over The Rainbow/Simple Gifts (based on the version by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and the Shaker hymn)

Actually...just visit their channel. Everything they put out is fantastic.

Happy Listening!

CD Review: "Hymned No. 1" by Bart Millard

Every month I check out Amazon's $5 mp3 albums. Sometimes they have some really good deals and although I don't buy very many of them, I have bought several albums when they have been on the $5 sale as it is generally much cheaper, in that instance, to buy the entire album than to buy the songs individually for 99-cents each!

Normally there are only 100 albums available each month on the $5 special. During the month of January there were 1000! I happened to see Hymned, No. 1 by Bart Millard on the list. I had received a free download of his version of "Power in the Blood" a few months back and loved it, so when I saw the album for $5 and listened to the previews, I knew it would be good. Apparently this CD has been out since 2005 so I don't know how I missed it until now, but I the good news is now I know about it. :)

For those of you who don't know who Bart Millard is, he is the lead singer for the widely-popular Christian music group MercyMe (who I happened to see live in concert last spring at the Rock & Worship Roadshow). If you've ever heard the song "I Can Only Imagine," that is who wrote it/sings it. Anyway, I downloaded the mp3 album, and I love it. The arrangements are, to me, excellent.

Here's the track listing (I linked to all the ones I could find on YouTube):

1. Just a Closer Walk With Thee
2. Mawmaw's Song (In The Sweet By & By)
3. Pass Me Not, Oh Gentle Savior
4. Have a Little Talk With Jesus
5. Take My Hand, Precious Lord (one of my favorites on the album)
6. Softly and Tenderly
7. Sweetest Name I Know
8. Power in the Blood
9. My Jesus I Love Thee/Tis So Sweet
10. The Old Rugged Cross

I encourage you to check out Hymned, No. 1 by Bart Millard. And if Hymned Again (a follow-up CD) ever goes on sale, I bet you'll see a review on that album, too, someday. :)

Temporary Home

"Temporary Home" by Carrie Underwood from her Play On album. Just listen to it. Once again Carrie Underwood has an album full of amazing songs. This is one of them. :) (Man, I hope it works out to go to her concert in the spring!)

Little boy, 6 years old
A little too used to bein' alone
Another new mom and dad, another school
Another house that'll never be home
When people ask him how he likes this place
He looks up and says with a smile upon his face

"This is my temporary home
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know this is my
Temporary Home."

Young mom on her own
She needs a little help got nowhere to go
She's lookin' for a job, lookin' for a way out
Because a half-way house will never be a home
At night she whispers to her baby girl
Someday we'll find a place here in this world

"This is our temporary home
It's not where we belong
Windows and rooms that we're passin' through
This is just a stop, on the way to where we're going
I'm not afraid because I know this is our
Temporary Home."

Old man, hospital bed
The room is filled with people he loves
And he whispers don't cry for me
I'll see you all someday
He looks up and says "I can see God's face"

"This is my temporary Home
It's not where I belong
Windows and rooms that I'm passin' through
This was just a stop,on the way To where I'm going
I'm not afraid because I know this was
My temporary home."

This is our temporary home

I'm In Love. . .

. . .with Michael Bublé (and, of course, his music!). (I had you for a second with the title, didn't I?!)

For those of you not familiar with the greatness that is Michael Bublé, let me introduce you.

Michael Bublé is a Canadian singer, but he actually took Italian citizenship in 2005. He takes a lot of older songs by artists ranging from Frank Sinatra to the Beatles, to who-knows-who-else, and a whole variety of others - songs such as "You Don't Know Me," "Feeling Good," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Save the Last Dance For Me," - and puts a fresh spin on them. Most of his songs have a jazzy/swing feel to them. He also writes some original songs, which are amazing as well.

Anyway, Michael Bublé just released a new album on October 9 entitled Crazy Love, and I am planning to make a trip to Target tomorrow, in the hopes that the album is still on sale so I can buy it. :) In the meantime I have contented myself with listening to the songs from the CD on YouTube. So far there are several that I can't stop singing in my head.

But instead of me trying to sell you on Michael Bublé, here are two of the songs from his newest album. If you like what you hear, look him up on YouTube. There's plenty more out there. :)

Enjoy!

The Title Song, "Crazy Love"

And an original composition, the first single from this album, "Haven't Met You Yet." (And I'm pretty sure he must have had a blast recording this promo video!)

God Bless the USA!

On Saturday we will be celebrating our nation's birthday. While perhaps our country is not doing as well as it has in the past, we should still be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy as citizens of the United States of America.

If tomorrow all the things were gone,
I’d worked for all my life.
And I had to start again,
with just my children and my wife.

I’d thank my God above
to be livin here today.
‘ Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

From the lakes of Minnesota,
to the hills of Tennessee.
Across the plains of Texas,
From sea to shining sea.

From Detroit down to Houston,
and New York to L.A.
Well there's pride in every American heart,
and its time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

And I’m proud to be and American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA.

While I'm Waiting (John Waller)

We interrupt the Seattle Trip posts to bring you this "rest stop" in our virtual road trip.

If you have seen the movie "Fireproof" you might recognize this song. . .and if you haven't seen the movie, drop everything and watch it now. It's that good. But anyway, I digress. . .

Last night (er. . .and early this morning) I was talking with a friend on the phone. She and I are, at this point, at completely different points in our lives. We are both waiting for answers for various (different) questions we have, and while our stories at the moment are different, somehow there is something similar between the two. I originally heard this song in the movie "Fireproof," as I mentioned, but I heard it again recently and it came to mind after my conversation with my friend last night. I thought I would share it with you all here.

While I'm Waiting
John Waller

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am hopeful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it is painful
But patiently, I will wait

I will move ahead, bold and confident
Takeing every step in obedience
While I'm waiting
I will serve You
While I'm waiting
I will worship
While I'm waiting
I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait

I'm waiting
I'm waiting on You, Lord
And I am peaceful
I'm waiting on You, Lord
Though it's not easy
But faithfully, I will wait
Yes, I will wait
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve you while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You, Lord

Soundtrack to Graduation: Feeling Good (Michael Buble')

I'm prefacing this by saying that yes, I set this post up and scheduled it, long ago, to post today. Since I did that, we were told we needed to find a new song for graduation, since this song was not upbeat enough at the beginning. I will post the new song once I know for certain what it is. . .but for now, enjoy this one, which we were supposed to walk out on. :)

Feeling Good
Michael Buble'

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Reeds driftin' on by
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea
You know how I feel
River running free
You know how I feel
Blossom in the tree
You know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
For me
And I'm feeling good

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean
Sleep in peace when the day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world
And a bold world
For me
Fooor me

Stars when you shine
You know how I feel
Scent of the pine
You know how I feel
Yeah freedom is mine
And I know how I feel
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life

It's a new dawn
It's a new day
It's a new life
It's a new life
For me

And I'm feeling good

Soundtrack to Graduation: My Wish (Rascal Flatts)

Ever since I heard this song a couple of years ago, I've thought it was a great song and would be perfect at a graduation. Well, guess who gets to have this song played at her graduation (even though it is at the end when I will be out of the auditorium and won't get to hear it!)? Yep. . .me! :-) So, enjoy the next Graduation Soundtrack song, which is. . .

My Wish
Rascal Flatts

I hope the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
and each road leads you where you want to go,
and if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
and if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' 'til you find the window,
if it's cold outside,
show the world the warmth of your smile,
but more than anything, more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
all the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
and you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
and always give more then you take.

But more than anything, Yeah, and more than anything,

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
your dreams stay big, your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
and while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
this is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
may all your dreams stay big
(Repeat)
(Chorus)

Soundtrack to Graduation: Time of My Life (David Cook)

We're half-way through the Graduation Soundtrack 2009. I think the songs are kind of cool. :-) This next song is a newer song. . .in fact, it is sung by the winner of American Idol 2008, and while it was definitely fitting for a new American Idol winner, I think it is appropriate for a graduation song, as well. :-) The next song is. . .

Time of My Life

David Cook

I’ve been waiting for my dreams
To turn into something I could believe in
And looking for that
Magic rainbow
On the horizon I couldn’t see it
Until I let go
Gave into love and watched all the bitterness burn
Now I’m coming alive
Body and soul
And feelin’ my world start to turn

And I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time
To be more than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life

Holding onto things that vanished
Into the air
Left me in pieces
But now I’m rising from the ashes
Finding my wings
And all that I needed
Was there all along
Within my reach
As close as the beat of my heart

and I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time to be
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life

And I’m out on the edge of forever
Ready to run
I’m keeping my feet on the ground
Arms open wide
Face to the sun

I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time to be
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
This is the time
This is the time of my life.
This is the time of my life.

3. Time of My Life (David Cook)
4. Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Israel K.)
5. Whenever You Remember (Carrie Underwood)

Soundtrack to Graduation: Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole)

Welcome to the third installment in the Graduation Soundtrack 2009! :-) This week's song is (and I apologize for the video with videos of random people's kids. . .but YouTube videos of this song are hard to come by). . .

Somewhere Over the Rainbow
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole

Ooooo oooooo ohoohohoo
Ooooo ohooohoo oooohoo
Ooooo ohoohooo oohoooo
Oohooo oohoooho ooooho
Ooooo oooooo oooooo
Ooooo oooooo oooooo

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
And the dreams that you dreamed of
Dreams really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney tops that's where you'll find me oh
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
And the dream that you dare to, why, oh why can't I?

Well I see trees of green and
Red roses too,
I'll watch them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Well I see skies of blue and I see clouds of white
And the brightness of day
I like the dark and I think to myself
What a wonderful world

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people passing by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying, I... I love you
I hear babies cry and I watch them grow,
They'll learn much more
Than we'll know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Someday I'll wish upon a star,
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
High above the chimney top that's where you'll find me
Oh, Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
And the dream that you dare to, why, oh why can't I?

Graduation Soundtrack:

4. Somewhere Over the Rainbow (Israel Kamakawiwo'ole)
5. Whenever You Remember (Carrie Underwood)
6. My! My! Time Flies! (Enya)

. . .and as always, stay tuned for more. Don't you wonder what song is going to be playing when the graduates (myself included!) leave the stage?!

Rascal Flatts - Things That Matter

Around Christmastime I said that I was going to use some of my Christmas money to buy some CDs. I bought Josh Turner's Everything is Fine and Carrie Underwood's Some Hearts right after Christmas. . .and I have been waiting ever since to get the third CD I wanted. :) See, right around that time I heard that Rascal Flatts was coming out with a new album in April. So, ever since Christmastime I have had money set aside and I have been waiting for today so I could buy that new album. Yes, Unstoppable came out today, and yes, I stopped by Target and bought it (because they had it on sale since it was a brand-new album).

I like Rascal Flatts because they not only usually have some fun songs on their albums. . .but they also usually have some songs that are really good lyrically. For example, My Wish is one of my favorite songs. And they have other good ones, like He Ain't The Leaving Kind. And there's more. . .

Of course I started listening to the new album tonight (although I have to wait until my mom comes home with the laptop to put it on my mp3 player), and while yes, there is a song or two I don't care for so much, one of the songs jumped out at me - especially the last verse. I think it's kind of cool, and I thought I'd share it with you. . .I really like the part that I put in purple. :)

Things That Matter
Rascal Flatts

Sometimes he lets that boss get in his head
He can’t see past that mountain of deadlines on his desk
5oclock he’s that last one out of the gate
And he gets cut off flipped off ticked off out on the interstate
And he wonders why this world won’t leave him alone
Till he hears that little voice holler “daddy’s home”
Things that matter
Things that don’t

She’s held on to that grudge all her life
Had thirty years of anger
Since her dad walked out that night
She thinks of all the moments that he's missed
All the birthdays ballets first dates
That seems too much to forget
She gets that call that said he don’t have long
She walks in
He starts crying
The past is gone
Things that matter
Things that don’t

Time ain’t on my side
Don’t want to leave this world
With why didn’t I?
Why didn’t I?
Yeah why didn’t I?

Sometimes I take on this world by myself
Thinking I got all the answers
Don’t need anybody’s help
Well God was right there waiting for me all along
To fall down on my knees surrender all

Things that matter
Things that don’t
Things that matter
Things that don’t

Soundtrack to Graduation: Whenever You Remember (Carrie Underwood)

Welcome to the next round of Graduation Soundtrack 2009! :-) The next song is a song by one of my current favorite artists, Carrie Underwood. The next song is. . .

Whenever You Remember
Carrie Underwood

When you look back on times we had
I hope you smile
And know that through the good and through the bad
I was on your side when nobody could hold us down
We claimed the brightest star
And we, we came so far
And no they won't forget

(Chorus)
Whenever you remember times gone by
Remember how we held our heads so high
When all this world was there for us
And we believe that we could touch the sky
Whenever you remember, I'll be there
Remember how we reached that dream together
Whenever you remember

When you think back on all we've done
I hope you're proud
When you look back and see how far we've come
It was our time to shine
And nobody could hold us down
They thought they'd see us fall
But we, we stood so tall
And no we won't forget

Whenever you remember times gone by
Remember how we held our heads so high
When all this world was there for us
And we believe that we could touch the sky
Whenever you remember, I'll be there
Remember how we reached that dream together
Whenever you remember

We claimed the brightest star
And we, we came so far
And know that we showed them all
And no they won't forget

Whenever you remember times gone by
Remember how we held our heads so high
When all this world was there for us
And we believe that we could touch the sky
Whenever you remember, I'll be there
Remember how we reached that dream together
Whenever you remember

Whenever you remember

Ooohh, whenever you remember

Soundtrack to Graduation: My! My! Time Flies (Enya)

One of the perks to being part of the student council at LCSC is the chance to pick what music is played after graduation. The music begins as soon as the graduates begin to leave the stage and continues while guests mingle in the auditorium after the ceremony. We picked six songs to play during this time and I thought it would be fun to share them with you in the weeks leading up to graduation.

I will start with the last song to play and work backwards through the list of songs. So, first up:

My! My! Time Flies
Enya

My! My! Time flies! One step and we're on the moon, next step into the stars
My! My! Time flies! Maybe we could be there soon, a one way ticket to mars

My! My! Time flies! A man underneath a tree, an apple falls on his head
My my time flies a man wrote a symphony, it's 1812

My! My! Time flies! Four guys across abbey road, one forgot to wear shoes
My! My! Time flies! A rap on a rhapsody, a king who's still in the news, a king to sing you the blues

My! My! Time flies! A man in a winter sleigh, white white white as the snow
My! My! Time flies! A new day is on it's way, so let's let yesterday go
Could be we step out again
Could be tomorrow but then,
Could be 2010

. . .stay tuned for Song #5 next week!

CD Review - Josh Turner: Everything is Fine

I decided to buy some CDs and DVDs with some of my Christmas money, and one of the CDs I bought recently was Josh Turner's Everything is Fine. If you have never listened to Josh Turner, you should. He burst on the country music scene several years ago when he sang his hit, Long Black Train at the Grand Ole Opry (it's a great song!), and he hasn't slowed down since. His most recent CD, Everything is Fine, is no exception to his amazingness. Not only is his voice simply amazing, but his songs are, too. I have had the CD in my CD player pretty much non-stop since I bought it (with the exception of a couple days when a friend borrowed it, and a couple days where I listened to a different CD), and have no intentions of stopping listening to it anytime soon.

There are a few songs on the CD that I especially like. . .for example, the celtic-sounding song, The Longer The Waiting (The Sweeter the Kiss) -- which I love because it is a celtic song with a bit of a country feel, Soulmate -- which is the cutest, sweetest song. . .EVER!, and, my personal favorite, The Way He Was Raised -- and if you listen to the song you'll think it's awesome too. Trust me.

Anyway, I thought I would share with you the title song from the CD, the upbeat song Everything is Fine. Whether you are in a good mood or a bad mood, listen to it. . .I bet you'll be smiling, and maybe tapping your feet, in no time (it's a good one to crank up and sing while driving). :-)

Enjoy!

If you like that song, go to FreeNapster and look up the album, and listen to it -- especially the songs I mentioned -- and see what you think.

Let it be Christmas!

I can't say that I really feel like it is Christmas time yet (I know, I know!), but regardless, Let it be Christmas!

Let it be Christmas
Alan Jackson

Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the hearts of all people both near and afar
Christmas everywhere
Feel the love of the season wherever you are
On the small country roads lined with green mistletoe
Big city streets where a thousand lights glow

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere

Let it be Christmas everywhere
With the gold and the silver, the green and the red
Christmas everywhere
In the smiles of all children asleep in their beds
In the eyes of young babies their first fallen snow
Elderlys' memories that never grow old

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere

Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the songs that we sing and the gifts that we bring
Christmas everywhere
In what this day means and what we believe
From the sandy white beaches where blue water rolls
Snow covered mountains and valleys below

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
And let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere
Christmas everywhere
Christmas everywhere

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day (Casting Crowns)

I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
Casting Crowns

I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play
And mild and sweet their songs repeat
Of peace on earth good will to men

And the bells are ringing
Like a choir they're singing
In my heart I hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

And in despair I bowed my head
There is no peace on earth I said
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men

But the bells are ringing
Like a choir singing
Does anybody hear them?
Peace on earth, good will to men

Then rang the bells more loud and deep
God is not dead, nor doth He sleep
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men

Then ringing singing on its way
The world revolved from night to day
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime
Of peace on earth, good will to men

And the bells they're ringing
Like a choir they're singing
And with our hearts we'll hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Do you hear the bells they're ringing?
The life the angels singing
Open up your heart and hear them
Peace on earth, good will to men

Peace on earth, Peace on earth
Peace on earth, Good will to men

Enjoy Christmas Music?

Plain and simple, I love Christmas music. I listen to it often before Thanksgiving, and then I listen to it all the way through Christmas day. Yes, some of the songs get a little old by the end of it all, but overall, I love it. So, expect to see some posts throughout the next month with some of my favorite Christmas songs -- I'll try to find my favorite arrangements on YouTube and share them with you all.

But also, if you want some random Christmas music to listen to, scroll to the bottom of this page. I have had a music player at the bottom of my blog for awhile, but I just updated it with a Christmas playlist. Unfortunately it won't start (at least on my computer!) unless you scroll down to it, but once it starts it will keep playing until you leave the page.

So. . .if you want some random, and awesome, Christmas music to listen to this holiday season, just visit my blog. I'll try to update the playlist every now and then, but for now you'll hear Christmas music by Josh Groban, Michael Buble, MercyMe, and, of course, Mannheim Steamroller. . .among others. Check it out. . .enjoy. . .and Merry Christmas!

The Christmas Shoes (Newsong)

I love listening to Christmas music. One of my favorite Christmas songs is "The Christmas Shoes" which also has a movie by the same name. I watched the movie last Christmas season and, yes, it made me cry.

The Christmas Shoes
Newsong
It was almost Christmas time,
There I stood in another line
Trying to buy that last gift or two,
Not really in the Christmas mood.
Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously,
Pacing round like little boys do,
And in his hands, he held a pair of shoes.
And his clothes were worn and old.
He was dirty from head to toe,
And when it came his time to pay,
I couldnt believe what I heard him say.

Chorus:

Sir, I wanna buy these shoes for my momma please.
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry, Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time.
You see, she's been sick for quite a while;
Know these shoes will make her smile.
Want her to look beautiful if Momma meets Jesus tonight.

He counted pennies for what seemed like years
Then the cashier said Theres not enough here.
He searched his pockets frantically
Then he turned and he looked at me.
He said Momma made Christmas good at our house
Though most years she just did without.
Tell me, Sir, what am I gonna do?
Somehow Ive got to buy these Christmas shoes!
So I laid the money down;
I just had to help him out.
And Ill never forget the look on his face
When he said Mommas gonna look so great!

Chorus

I knew that I got a glimpse of heavens love
As he thanked me and ran out.
I knew that God had sent that little boy to remind me
What Christmas is all about.
Chorus in childrens voices

Young boy:
I want her to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus tonight.

I'll Walk (Bucky Covington)

There are some songs that are awesome songs, and there are some awesome songs that are so sad. This is a song that I heard on a country radio station not long ago when I was at work. When I started actually paying attention to the song, I stopped what I was doing and just stood there, listening, and thinking that it was an awesome, sad song. Unfortunately there is no good music video for the song (yet!), but I did find the song on YouTube so you can listen, if you want to.

I'll Walk
(Bucky Covington)

We were 18, it was prom night.
We had our first big fight.
She said "Pull this car over".
I did and then I told her, "I don't know what you are crying for".
I grabbed her hand, as she reached for the door.

She said, I'll walk.
Let go of my hand.
Right now I'm hurt, and you don't understand.
So just be quiet.
And later we will talk.
Just leave, don't worry.
I'll walk.

It was a dark night, a black dress.
Driver never saw her, around the bend.
I never will forget the call, or driving to the hospital
when they told me her legs still wouldn't move.
I cried, when I walked into her room.

She said, I'll walk.
Please come and hold my hand.
Right now I'm hurt, and I don't understand.
Lets just be quiet, and later we can talk.
Please stay, don't worry.
I'll walk.

I held her hand through everything.
The weeks and months of therapy.
And I held her hand and asked her, to be my bride.
She's dreamed from a little girl, to have her daddy bring her down the isle.
So from her wheelchair, she looks up to him and smiles.

And says, I'll walk.
Please hold my hand.
I know that this will hurt, I know you understand.
Please daddy don't cry.
This is already hard.
Let's go, don't worry.
I'll walk.
